Description

Job Summary:
The Pediatric Open Heart Unit (PEDS OH) is seeking a highly qualified healthcare professional for a travel assignment in Tacoma, Washington. This position involves working in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), caring for neonates, infants, children, and occasionally adult-sized patients with complex congenital and acquired conditions. The role includes performing specialized procedures and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS and PALS certifications; WA State or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license; at least 3 years of recent pediatric cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience; comprehensive experience with neonatal and pediatric patient populations, including congenital anomalies and complex cardiothoracic surgeries.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification; IV start experience, arterial line placement, circulating skills, and scrubbing in cardiothoracic cases.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shift, on-call one shift per week with a 30-minute response time, and two weekends in a six-week period (Friday morning to Monday morning).
  • Additional Information: The role requires flexibility to assist with general operating room cases when not busy in the cardiothoracic operating room. EMR usage involves Epic. Parking is available in the free parking lot. Candidates must be available to start on 09/08/2026.
