Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Shelby, North Carolina. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within a family-oriented unit, requiring candidates to bring their license on the first day. The position includes night shifts and requires candidates to work every other weekend with potential low census call responsibilities.

Job Details:

  • Location: Shelby, North Carolina
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, every other weekend rotation
  • Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; 18 months of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse experience; valid licensure; candidates must bring their license on the first day
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tracheostomy care, cardiac GTT (Gastrointestinal Tube) management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and management of central lines
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within region and scope of practice to facilities in Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH); floaters will be paid for travel time between facilities if floating mid-shift
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes a 2-day departmental and facility orientation; support staff include charge nurses, CNAs, receptionists, and resource nurses; Technology and Equipment used include EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors; parking is free; the unit maintains a family-oriented culture
