Description

Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) float duties is sought for a position in Centennial, Colorado. The role involves providing critical care in a combination of ICU units, including medical, surgical, cardiac, and trauma intensive care. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of work. The assignment begins on 07/06/2026.

Job Details:

  • Location: Centennial, Colorado
  • Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float Nurse
  • Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week minimum.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; certifications including ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS; experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience; for first-time travelers, at least 3 years of ICU experience and EPIC experience preferred.
  • Unit Details: ICU float team covering MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, among others; may be asked to float to different acuity levels including stepdown, medical-surgical, and telemetry units.
  • Experience and Skills: Comfort with titrating critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin; ability to read and interpret telemonitor strips; experience in managing ventilators, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow oxygen, and breathing treatments.
  • Shift and Scheduling: 7-7 schedule, made out 4-6 weeks in advance; candidates are expected to be flexible and assist in filling scheduling gaps. No specific self-scheduling; weekend shifts (6-9 in a 6-week period) and potential holiday rotation are required.
  • Floating Expectations: May be asked to float within Zone 3 covering multiple facilities within approximately a 60-mile radius from Denver City Center. All staff must be outside a designated home base facility and at least 60 miles from all listed facilities.
  • Additional Information: No home facility assigned; may be assigned to various ICU levels and other acuity units; orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor.
