Job Summary
Emergency Room registered nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including infants, geriatrics, and unhoused individuals. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details

  • Location: Louisville, Kentucky
  • Schedule:
    • Days: 07:00 AM 07:00 PM
    • Mids: 11:00 AM 11:00 PM
    • Nights: 07:00 PM 07:00 AM
    • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
    • Schedule cycle: Managed in 6-week increments with scheduling flexibility to accommodate highest need areas.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
    • Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience, any trauma level
    • Skills including IV starts, inserting foleys and nasogastric tubes, neuro assessment (NIHSS), triage, codes, initiating/titrating pressors/cardiac drips/sedation/insulin, critical patient care, hyper/hypothermia management, bedside procedural support, moderate sedation (versed, fentanyl, ketamine)
    • Ability to lead by example and function as ER Subject Matter Expert.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system
    • Competency with ultrasound (U/S) equipment
  • Float: No float rotation required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Average patient census of 78 patients per day with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
    • Support staff available 24/7, including charge nurses, ER physicians and midlevel providers, phlebotomy, and specialized teams such as IV/VAT
    • Orientation includes 2 days of unit-specific training
    • Uniform scrub color: Royal Blue
    • Free parking with garage access
    • Assigned holidays based on a rotation schedule; not required to work all holidays
