Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Washington, DC. This position requires experienced RNs to work in a fast-paced trauma environment. The role involves managing critical patient care, including medication titrations, arterial lines, and blood transfusions, across a diverse patient population ranging from urgent care to trauma and pediatric patients. Candidates must be willing to work in the trauma room as a bedside trauma RN and be capable of handling 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios.
Job Details:
- Location: Washington, DC
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/31/2026
- Required Qualifications:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state/district of practice
- ER experience of at least 3 years
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desired
- Cerner electronic health record experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility and be willing/able to work in the trauma room as a bedside trauma RN
- Certifications: NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with complex nursing care needs in a high-acuity environment
- Additional Information:
- The emergency department environment is fast-paced, managing a full spectrum of patient care needs including critical care interventions and complex procedures. The RN will coordinate and deliver care to ensure safety, quality, and a positive patient experience.
