Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) located in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves caring for complex cardiac and thoracic patients recovering from surgeries such as open heart procedures, EVARs, carotids, and structural heart interventions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. Candidates must have at least one year of experience with this patient population.

Job Details:

  • Location: Omaha, Nebraska
  • Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts from 1830 to 0630)
  • Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week minimum
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); at least 2 years of experience in an ICU setting with cardiac patient care; valid license to submit.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titration of vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently; familiarity with EPIC charting system.
  • Float: Float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must pass a skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation, and submit a drivers license at the time of application. Artificial nails are prohibited in clinical areas. The department maintains a 1:1 nurse-patient ratio for complex ICU cases, with in-house hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7.
