Description
Job Summary:
The IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients in a fast-paced, academic medical, Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The RN will work in both the Intermediate Care Med/Progressive Care unit and the Thoracic unit, covering day and evening shifts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin
- Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Required Qualifications: WI RN or compact RN license; minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry oncology, cardiac, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown; vent and transplant experience; ACLS and BLS certifications; pass/fail telemetry testing with strict passing criteria (adult and pediatric exams) prior to start
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center, strong proficiency in vent management, transplant care, and telemetry monitoring
- Additional Information: Candidate must pass a telemetry exam prior to being cleared to start. The unit cares for adult patients with complex medical diagnoses including post lung transplant, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension. Experience with arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and other advanced nursing procedures is required.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Minimum Experience: 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to
- EMR: Epic
