Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join its busy neuro trauma unit located in Springfield, Oregon. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for a diverse patient population, including trauma, neurological, and medical cases, with a focus on critical interventions and complex assessments. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Springfield, Oregon
  • Shift: 3x12 Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid proof of application for Washington state license; two years of ICU experience preferred, with consideration for one year if recently in a large facility; current certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC), Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN), and Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN); Epic electronic medical record system experience; documentation of vaccination; travel experience required; must be fully vaccinated with no booster requirement to submit.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Recent trauma experience, experience with Epic EMR (last year), experience with complex neurological assessments, and familiarity with specialized procedures and equipment listed.
  • Additional Information: Candidates should have a minimum of one year in a large trauma or ICU setting. They must demonstrate proficiency in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, thermoregulation protocols, cardiac and neuro interventions, and ventilator management. Candidates are expected to have experience with procedures such as chest tube placement, central line management, PICC line management, and emergency drug administration. The unit is very busy, with a broad spectrum of complex neurological and trauma cases, including managing blood pressure abnormalities, neuro assessments, and specialized cooling techniques.
  • Float: Travel nurses will float between ICU units and other hospital departments based on needs, with appropriate orientation provided.
  • Open to accommodating block schedule? Yes, flexible candidates preferred.
  • Certifications: All required certifications must be current and in hand or proof of application submitted prior to start.
  • References: Two references from the last two years, including at least one supervisor or charge nurse.
  • Other: Must have applied or have proof of application for Washington state license; documentation of COVID-19 vaccination required; no exemptions for flu vaccine.
