Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cardiac Cath Lab) Specialist in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves supporting complex cardiovascular procedures in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Location: Chicago, Illinois
  • Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours (0700-1730), cycle made in 6-week increments with self-scheduling and manager approval
  • Experience: No minimum years of experience required; however, 2 years of Cath Lab experience is preferred for RNs and Technicians
  • Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS; Tech: BLS, ACLS, ARRT
  • Required Skills:
    • RNs: Moderate sedation using Versed/Fentanyl, critical drip management, case observation/circulation across diverse procedures
    • Technicians: Laser lead extraction, Rotoblator, Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), EKOS, pacemaker management, scrub and pan table skills, groin site management and monitoring
  • Support within Department: Charge RN participates in cases, receptionist, hospitalist/physician after-hours coverage, respiratory therapist, manager/supervisor
  • Technology and Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system, Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips hemodynamics, GeoLogo PACS, Phillips C-arm imaging unit
  • Facilities: Three dedicated Cath Labs
  • Additional Information:
    • Rooms: 3 Cath Labs
    • Average case load: 5-15 cases per day
    • On-call availability: Yes, with weekend and weekday call shifts in 4-week cycles
    • Response time: 30 minutes. No sleep room available
    • Parking: Agency-signed parking options available at $47.50/month or $23.75/2 weeks; nearby public transportation options include the CTA Brown Line
    • Orientation: 1 day on the unit with New Employee Orientation (NEO)
