Job Summary:
The Massachusetts-based Post Anesthesia Care Ambulatory Unit is seeking a registered nurse for the Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role involves rotating shifts, including varied start times, with responsibilities spanning pre-operative and PACU care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Everett, Massachusetts
• Qualifications: Valid and active Massachusetts registered nurse (RN) license; current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; minimum of 0 years of experience in Pre-Operative and PACU settings; successfully documented travel experience is preferred; applicants with at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience and recent charge nurse or supervisor references are highly valued.
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week with rotating shifts typical of 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, or 8:30 am to 7:00 pm. On-call shifts occur once weekly, with scheduled work from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm, followed by overnight on-call from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Weekend on-call duties are approximately every 4-5 weeks, spanning from Saturday 7:00 am through Monday 7:00 am.
• Responsibilities: Float between pre-operative and PACU settings; support for PACU medication drips, including pressors such as norepinephrine; perform recoveries for various surgical procedures including general, gynecology, urology, plastics, orthopedics, vascular, and endoscopy cases, as well as IR procedures; maintain compliance with facility protocols and documentation standards.
• Additional Requirements: Drivers licenses with address matching demographics; NURSYS report verifying active or conditional Massachusetts RN license within the past 7 days; up-to-date immunizations including flu vaccine during the flu season; RTO (request for time off) must be submitted at the time of application. Candidates must work every other major holiday.
• EMR Experience: Preference for experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
