Job Summary
The Labor and Delivery Department Nurse position is located in West Des Moines, Iowa. Providing vital care in a busy facility, the organization is seeking a qualified professional to support labor, delivery, and postpartum services. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day to be considered for this role. The position involves night shifts, a 36-hour minimum workweek, and is critical for supporting patient care across multiple campuses.
Job Details
- Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active Iowa (IA) license or compact/multistate license at time of submission; certificate from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) / AWHONN certificate; experience in Labor Delivery, Post Partum, and Mother Baby care; 24 months of current relevant experience; skills checklist specific to Labor Delivery or related disciplines.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with magnesium, insulin, and Pitocin drips; clinical performance references from within the past 24 months; professional references from charge nurses, supervisors, or managers.
- Floats: Traveler may be required to float across all campuses within the organization.
- Additional Information: No first-time travelers; must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 12 months. Holiday work required during Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day unless the unit is closed.
