Description

Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse position available in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients between the ages of 3 days and 18 years, including those with complex conditions such as respiratory issues, traumas, and post-surgical care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, days shift from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), must have both
    • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Compact or Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience
    • Experience in a facility with 400+ beds and similar acuity (Level 2 trauma)
    • IV skills are a plus
  • Preferred Qualifications: None listed
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, including to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Additional Information:
    • Orientation includes 8 hours on the floor with a preceptor; non-billable hours guaranteed do not apply during orientation
    • Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours for the 13-week assignment
    • Duty includes providing pediatric care for patients with conditions such as respiratory issues, traumas, seizures, poisoning, and post-surgical complications, with no burns
    • Utilization of EPIC charting system, Pyxis medication system
    • The unit comprises 28 pediatric beds and 7 PICU beds
    • Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4 in Peds, 1:2 in PICU
    • Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs
    • Shift hours: Three 12-hour daytime shifts per week
