Description
Job Summary:
The position is a Flex Registered Nurse (RN) role located in HILO, Hawaii, specializing in the Medical Surgical Floor. The role involves floating between various medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasionally the Cardiovascular Unit. Candidates must hold a valid Hawaii license and bring it on their first day of work. The schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, totaling scheduled 36 hours per week following initial orientation.
Job Details:
- Location: HILO, Hawaii

- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Additional preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC)
- Licensing: Must have Hawaii License, with application required upon acceptance if not currently held
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1845 to 0715), scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation; no guarantee of hours
- Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.: Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR); Pyxis; wound vac; chest tubes
- Nurse to patient ratio: Medical - 1:6 for days and evenings, 1:8 for nights; Laulima - 1:6; Cardiovascular - 1:4 (ratio may vary due to unexpected leaves)
- Dress Code: Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs
- Unit/Department Training and Orientation: Orientation time provided for each unit
- Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before start to attend employee health appointment on Friday. Candidates should not accept the start date if unable to be present on time.
