Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse Grand Junction, Colorado. The registered nurse independently performs nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care; collecting and reviewing health data; providing health teaching and counseling; executing delegated medical functions; and documenting care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); ASN (Associate Degree in Nursing) graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; and demonstrated competency in nursing care including health teaching, health counseling, therapy and treatment planning, and health assessment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse; Bachelors degree of Nursing; and certification as appropriate for unit or service.
- Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care; evaluate health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data; provide health teaching and health counseling; provide therapy and treatment supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others; execute delegated medical functions; refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment; review and monitor therapy and treatment plans; document according to hospital and regulatory guidelines; use resources as needed; and perform other duties as assigned.
- Additional Information: May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need, including Medical Surgical, Surgical, Medical Oncology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiac, or Neuro Trauma Spine. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Life Support (AHA) (as appropriate for unit or service), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required skills are required.
