Description
Job Summary:
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Long Term Care located in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves providing patient care in a skilled nursing facility with a mix of long-term and short-term residents. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers 12-hour night shifts, with every other weekend required.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), scheduled according to facility needs, with every other weekend required.
- Required Qualifications: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, CPR certification, at least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, and BLS Certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with wound care, Foley and catheter care, PEG tube feedings, stoma care, tracheostomy care, and familiarity with Point Click Care electronic health record system.
- Additional Information:
- Unit notes specify a mix of long-term residents and residents here to gain strength to return home, with common diagnoses including inability to care for self, sepsis, femur fracture, NSTEMI, chronic kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and urinary tract infections.
- The facility has a ratio of 1 RN or LPN to 15 residents and 1 CNA to 10 residents.
- RN staff handle IVs, PICC lines, mediports, and monitor strips.
- Interdisciplinary team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, dieticians, and pharmacists, all on-site.
- No on-site oxygen therapy equipment is used.
- This role involves floating before core staff as needed.
- Orientation consists of 2 shifts.
- The facility uses EPIC charting system.
- No COVID unit or specific COVID precautions requiring PAPR or N95 masks.
- The hospital implements enhanced droplet precautions for COVID, with private rooms and N95 masks required.
