Job Summary
The organization is seeking a registered nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a facility located in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and managing various cardiac medical conditions and devices. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin
- Schedule: Day/Night, 12-hour shifts, working 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with every other weekend, some holidays, and no call.
- Required Qualifications: A valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, ACLS (American Heart Association) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications, two years of recent acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty, and Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler must pass telemetry test prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in managing arterial lines, chest tubes, intracardiac assist devices (Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD), post-cardiac surgery care, and use of EMR Epic.
- Additional Information: Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and comfort with a wide range of advanced clinical skills relevant to CVICU, including management of multisystem organ failure, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency cardiac procedures.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Wisconsin RN license.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant acute care experience within the last three years.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Pass/Fail Testing: A telemetry exam must be passed with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts; a cardiac interpretation review course completion is required if both attempts are unsuccessful.
- Additional Requirements: A flu vaccine is mandatory; a COVID-19 vaccine is not required.
