Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified registered nurse (RN) for a Step Down Unit position located in Centennial, Colorado. This role involves working nights in a hospital setting, with a focus on adult patient populations including general medicine, cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, urology, and post-surgical care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse (RN), BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certification, and previous experience of at least 2 years in a step down or similar acute care setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience, Epic electronic health record experience, proficiency with cardiac drips, insulin, and Ativan.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required within Zone 1, which includes multiple facilities around Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • Additional Information: The shift involves working in a high-acuity environment with patient ratios of 1:3-4 depending on acuity. The unit includes various specialized units with the potential to float into ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical Telemetry units. Orientation includes 1-2 days of unit-specific training with a preceptor. The hospital allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment and 3 shifts if shorter. Charting is performed using EPIC electronic medical record system.
