Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Des Moines, IA. This role provides specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery Department, supporting antepartum patients and patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights (12-hour shifts); minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate at time of submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)) ; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA) ; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) ; Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification (required); Electronic Prescribing (EPIC) experience (EPIC) ; Experience in Labor Delivery (required); Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) / AWHONN certificate acceptance (required); Antepartum and C-section/vaginal delivery experience (required); Skills checklist must be specific to the discipline listed on the job (Labor Delivery); Drivers license document (required); Professional reference/performance evaluation/reference from within 24 months of todays date (preferred).
• Preferred Qualifications: Current/recent high-risk OB experience in a level II trauma facility; current/recent high-risk OB experience in a level I trauma facility.
• Additional Information: Patient ratios of 1:12; patient types include high-risk OB, antepartum, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries; common drips include magnesium, insulin, and pitocin; scrubs are hospital-provided; summer holiday coverage may be required unless the unit is closed (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day); floating across campuses may be required.
