Description

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is needed in the San Francisco, California area. Candidates will be responsible for assessing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating nursing care to adult and pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia. This role involves working in a Day Surgery Unit, providing direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. Candidates are required to bring their California registered nursing license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, variable start times from 0600-0930, with a closing shift that may extend to 1800 if discharge criteria are not met. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: CA RN Licensure, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS certifications, EPIC electronic medical record experience, minimum 5 years of experience as inpatient Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN and/or outpatient surgical setting experience, with at least 2 years in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: EPIC experience is preferred.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be flexible to accommodate shifts that could require staying late if patients do not meet discharge criteria. Candidates should be aware that some patients requiring 23-hour stays may be booked with only 24-48 hours' notice. A 7-year work history verification is required. Candidates must provide valid state license and in-hand AHA certifications at the time of submission.
  • Certifications: All certifications must be AHA and in hand at the time of submission.
  • Vaccinations: COVID-19 and Flu vaccines are required.
  • Travel Requirement: 50 miles, with local candidates accepted at a lower bureau rate. Locals should be aware they are accepted at a lower bureau rate.
