Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified registered nurse for a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) position located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients requiring advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care, heart and lung transplants, and various medical devices. Candidates must bring their license on the first day. The RN will deliver specialized care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, utilizing technological expertise and a compassionate approach.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH)
• Shift: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts, 1900-0730, with some holidays and every other weekend
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin registered nurse license, at least 2 years of acute care experience in an ICU setting within the last 3 years, experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), travel experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and Basic Arrhythmia experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable areas.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required Skills: Managing Ports, Arterial line management, Chest Tube procedures, Ventilator management, Central line and CVP care, Post-surgical patient management, Emergency medication administration, Telemetry interpretation, and use of specialized cardiac monitoring devices.
• Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery, CVICU, or acuity adaptable area preferred.
• Must pass a telemetry interpretation test prior to start. The test includes identification of lethal rhythms and dysrhythmias with a passing score of 80%, with two attempts allowed.
• The traveler must have Minimum Experience: 2 years of inpatient RN experience in the last 3 years in an acute care setting.

• Float: Travelers are required to float as needed.
• Location specifics: The facility is in Madison, WI, at 600 Highland Ave, within a Magnet-designated hospital ranked Wisconsins #1 hospital.
