Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Billings, Montana
This role performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as collecting and assessing health data to determine patient needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift; 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice; ASN (Associate Degree) graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association); ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily as described; and certification or requirements specific to the state Board of Nursing scope of practice.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree of Nursing; previous experience as a Registered Nurse; certification as appropriate for the unit or service.
- Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
- Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
- Provides health teaching and health counseling.
- Provides supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, directly or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others.
- Executes delegated medical functions.
- Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
- Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
- Documents care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Uses resources as needed.
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
