Description
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position in Utica, New York, offers an opportunity to provide specialized care in a dynamic Emergency Department. The role requires candidates to have prior experience in emergency nursing, including pediatrics, and to bring their license on the first day. Travel experience is mandatory for this assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Utica, NY
- Shift: 10:30 AM 11:00 PM, with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid New York State Registered Nurse license, current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). A minimum of 3 years of emergency department experience, including pediatrics, documentation of travel experience, and a resume reflecting these requirements. Candidates must also possess a drivers license matching their demographic information and meet the travel distance criteria.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse capability is highly preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates may also be considered at a reduced rate. The candidate must have experience with the electronic medical record system EPIC. Critical care involves managing patients with diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Equipment specific to the unit includes Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun devices. The unit accommodates a diverse patient population spanning from newborns to geriatric patients, across 64 beds with various specialized areas. The role involves administering and managing several drips and medications, including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedation agents, TNK, heparin, and insulin.
