Description
Job Summary: Pediatric Floor (Peds RN) Olympia, Washington
A Pediatric Registered Nurse position is available on the Pediatric unit located within the Post Partum unit at a short-term acute care facility in Olympia, Washington. Responsibilities include providing pediatric-focused patient care across a variety of conditions, supporting clinical workflows, and maintaining safety standards during night shifts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Epic charting experience; Pediatric med/surg experience; ability to support care needs including breastfeeding support/handling of breast milk, feeding methods (bottle, breast, gavage), central line/implanted line care, oxygen delivery systems, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions/PPE. Minimum 1 year of experience is required; pediatric unit-related experience within the posting is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience is preferred; prior charge experience is listed as preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Weekend coverage is required (EOW), with 4 weekend shifts per contract.
- Floating between Post Partum and Special Care Nursery may be required.
- Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and pediatrics.
- Unit interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary.
- Selected pediatric clinical focus areas include pediatric asthma, bronchiolitis, upper respiratory infections, suicidal ideation and other psychiatric concerns, post-surgical simple cases (e.g., appendectomy, T&A), failure to thrive, jaundice, non-accidental trauma, and post partum conditions including vaginal and C-section patients.
- Special equipment includes Vapotherm High Flow (Tier 3).
- On-call is not required.
- Pending licensure is accepted, with a preference for quick starts.
