Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nursing professionals are sought for a facility located in Red Bluff, California. The position involves working in a dynamic acute care environment with a variety of patient cases, including stroke, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, and psychiatric conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role offers a 12-hour shift schedule, with varied start times, and is designed for professionals with 3-5 years of specialty experience.
Job Details:
- Location: Red Bluff, California
- Shift: 12 hours, with varied start times (e.g., 7-9, 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, 2-2); schedules are made out 30-45 days in advance
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); COVID vaccine certification; 3-5 years of experience in emergency room or related specialty; current license to submit
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified
- Floats: No; the position does not require floating to other units
- Additional Information:
- Charge nurse role included, with the ability to manage a small patient load if needed
- Nurse aides, unit secretary available 24/7, techs on duty for 20 hours daily
- Hospitalist or Intensivist team in house with at least one physician always present; midlevels typically on site from 9am-2am
- RTs available 24/7, pharmacy services available 24/7
- No IV team
- Floor-specific orientation lasting 2-3 days
- Approximately 100 patient visits daily and 500-600 pediatric patients per month
- First to float policy for scheduled shifts; hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
- Charting system: Cerner (First Net)
- Care setting: Acute care
- Trauma Level: 3
- Shift notes: 12-hour mids with varied start times, every other weekend, involved in permanent staff rotation
