Description

Job Summary:
An Operating Room (OR) RN is sought for a healthcare facility in Boston, Massachusetts. The position involves working in a fast-paced surgical environment with a focus on trauma, orthopedic, neuro, and cardiac cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar setting.

Job Details:

  • Location: Boston, Massachusetts
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts (nights), with additional options for 8-hour shifts.
  • Schedule: Self-scheduling within reasonable limits; block scheduling is not guaranteed.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license (willing to wait for license), BLS Certification, minimum of 2 years of OR experience, experience with trauma, orthopedics, neuro, and cardiac cases.
  • Certifications: BLS Certification.
  • Experience or skills: Trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, ex lap.
  • Shift Notes: Open to 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts for a total of 36 to 40 hours per week, to be discussed with the manager during interview.
  • Additional Information: Average of 75 cases per day. Call requirements include 1 shift per 4 weeks and 3-4 shifts per 4 weeks for night coverage, with a response time of 45 minutes. Call begins at the end of your shift if it extends beyond 3:30 PM or 5:30 PM. No floating is required.
  • Perioperative Call Expectations: All travelers are required to take the same call share as permanent staff, assigned via a call center, with the possibility to sign up in tech spots. Circulating for cardiac and eye cases may be assigned to RN staff as needed.
  • Neuro/Orthopedic Coverage: 3 weekdays per month (evenings or nights). Staff rotate weekend shifts, with 10 staff per month taking 2 weekend shifts and others taking 1. Shift rotations are posted monthly.
