Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves supporting complex surgical procedures, including kidney transplant, gynecologic, urological, and robotic surgeries. The role requires a highly skilled OR nurse prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety and operative efficiency.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting on 08/24/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification, RN license, 2 years of recent acute care experience within last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to, and experience with EPIC charting system
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse experience, experience in Inpatient care, and community hospital setting experience
• Certifications: BLS, RN License
• Skills: Abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, administration of blood & blood products, anterior/posterior repair (colporrhaphy), code response, cystectomy, cystoscopy, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, fire safety, general operating room procedures, gynecologic robotic surgery, infection control, kidney, laparoscopic assisted cases, laser safety, latex allergy management, malignant hyperthermia preparedness, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, specimen handling/labeling, transurethral resection of the prostate, trauma procedures, universal protocol (time out), urinary bladder catheterization, urologic robotic surgery
• Unit Details: Support for kidney transplant, robotic surgery with Da Vinci Xi system, gynecologic and urologic surgeries, including procurements and complex procedures
• Travel & Compliance: Travelers must be willing to float as needed, with a local rule of 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted. Telemetry exam required, with specific passing criteria, extendable via coursework if failed initially.
• Location: 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792. Parking permit required through UW Transportation, with other transportation options available.
