Description
Job Summary: Registered Nurse, Mother/Baby Couplet Care Nights (Charleston, South Carolina)
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care for patients in a Level 2 special care nursery. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards and practices, including the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week. Night shift is 7:00 p.m.7:30 a.m., and working holidays and weekends as needed may be required. May also be required to float to other facilities as needed.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensure (currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina or a current compact/multi-state license); Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; 1 year of Level 2 nursery experience; BSN preferred may be required within five (5) years of hire date (BSN preferred; highly desired).
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN preferred.
- Additional Information: Provides nursing care following established standards and practices, including professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Experience with CPAP, hypoglycemic care, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and high-flow skills is preferred/desired. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining records and writing reports, establishing effective working relationships with patients and healthcare team members, and applying critical thinking with calm and effective communication during emergency situations.
