Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Denver, CO. In this role, the healthcare provider will assess patients physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive and communicative skills as appropriate, and use that information to support collaborative, individualized care planning. The healthcare provider will also direct and coordinate interdisciplinary care delivery, evaluate patient response to interventions, and revise the plan of care as needed. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Mon-Fri, no holidays or weekends; typical shifts are 9-10 hours long (10 hours per shift) with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers. Bachelors degree requirements for Registered Nurses (RNs) with less than 12 months of experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) must be obtained within four (4) years of hire date.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Responsibilities:
- Performs appropriate patient assessment and seeks and evaluates information from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patient, family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, and support staff.
- Develops individualized plans of care using assessment information and critical thinking skills, actively seeking patient and family involvement, as well as interdisciplinary team and physician involvement.
- Collaboratively plans and prepares patients for further support needs once current episode of care outcomes are met, including education, referrals, and follow-up.
- Directs interdisciplinary care delivery via delegation, coordination, and collaboration as appropriate; provides or delegates care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
- Sets priorities and coordinates and organizes patient care delivery by effectively managing time, supplies, and resources.
- Evaluates patient response to interventions by reviewing achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, and patient and family satisfaction; revises the plan of care as indicated and reassesses changes as appropriate.
- Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice, complies with regulatory standards, practices within scope of licensure, and provides accurate and timely documentation.
- Promotes the nursing profession and participates in development of others.
- Additional Information: Potential for some reduction in hours if needed for low census.
