Job Summary
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Tucson, Arizona) The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. This role uses specialized nursing knowledge and judgment to deliver care appropriate to patients physical and developmental needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in the state of practice, or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree preferred; professional certification preferred; additional related education and/or experience preferred.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Assess patients physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review patient history/physical with patient/family and ensure completion within required timeframes; review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to the appropriate caregivers.
    • Formulate and implement a plan of care, including discharge planning, using assessment data and input from the patient, family, and the multidisciplinary health care team; establish realistic, measurable goals developed with the patient/family; revise the plan of care based on changing patient needs.
    • Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team; provide care in compliance with physician orders, nursing plan of care, organizational policies/procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
    • Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; evaluate progress toward goals and expected outcomes with the health care team; revise the plan of care as needed.
    • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure documentation is legible, timely, and reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient response to treatment.
    • Provide care based on the best available evidence and may participate in research activities within clinical practice; participate in shared leadership, education, role development, and orientation.
    • Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to support patient care needs; synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to respond to changes in health status.
    • Maintain established compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
  • Additional Information: BLS certification must be maintained. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
