Job Summary
Operating Room Pediatrics Only Registered Nurse (OR PEDS) Madison, Wisconsin. This role supports pediatric surgical care in the perioperative setting, including ambulatory and pediatric trauma-oriented workflows as operational needs arise. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days; 10 shift hours; 40 hours per week minimum.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) required); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license; acute care experience in the specialty being submitted to (minimum 2 years in the last 3 years).
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric trauma experience; kidney transplant experience.
- Responsibilities: Provide pediatric perioperative nursing care in support of operating room procedures, including administration of blood and blood products and safe execution of surgical support activities; assist with perioperative clinical needs associated with ambulatory operating room workflows and pediatric trauma cases as operationally required.
- On-Call / Coverage: On-call coverage of 1 time every 68 weekends and 1 night per week (MondayThursday); holiday coverage as operationally needed.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Flu vaccination is required (medical/religious exemptions only). Pass/Fail testing is required with strict passing criteria; a telemetry examination will be required prior to start. Adult and pediatric telemetry exam criteria must be met within two attempts, with additional requirements if the second attempt is not passed.
