Job Summary
Oncology Nurse Navigator (Oncology Clinic) Palo Alto, California. The oncology nurse navigator is a licensed nurse with experience in cancer clinical care coordination and care management. In this role, navigation is provided throughout the patient journeyfrom diagnosis through survivorshipto optimize care coordination, enhance the patient experience, and support improved clinical outcomes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift; 8 shift hours; minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: CA-RN (Registered Nurse); Basic Life Support (BLS); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college/university; clinical knowledge of the disease process, clinical trial information, symptom management, and appropriate cancer care services; knowledge of overall cancer disease processes and treatment; ability to manage group processes and build an effective working relationship; strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN); Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN); Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS); experience with nurse navigation and/or ambulatory oncology case management; experience with Epic electronic medical record (Epic EMR); knowledge of adult learning styles and various teaching methods; ability to integrate patient care with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team and provide direction or guidance to non-licensed personnel as appropriate; ability to develop materials involving graphics and tables; experience implementing professional and community-based education programs.
