Description
Job Summary: Medical Surgical Urology/Renal Floor Nurse Coordinator Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, the healthcare provider coordinates patient care for individuals receiving treatment in a specialty service, supporting a seamless progression of care to meet patient needs. The position involves collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals from referral through follow-up, while supporting scheduling, assessments, documentation, and patient education. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days (8:00 AM4:30 PM), 40 hours per week
- Start Date: 07/13/2026
- Schedule: Days (8:00 AM4:30 PM), 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support); MA license required at time of submission; Urology clinic experience required; Urology RN experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: None provided
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Responsibilities:
- Coordinate care for patients receiving treatment in a specialty service, including evaluation, assessment, scheduling, consultation, and treatment to support seamless progression of care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care from referral/consultation through discharge/follow-up
- Assist with the pre-authorization process
- Serve as a contact and facilitator for consults and patient information
- Coordinate and ensure patient scheduling, including consultations, diagnostic, and treatment procedures
- Gather information for history and physical
- Perform and document patient evaluations and assessments
- Assist with ordering labs, x-rays, and diagnostic procedures
- Work with surgeons and physicians to educate patients and families in medical care
- Assist in the development of patient/family educational materials
- Participate in patient rounds and case conferences
- Update clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education, and review of literature for self and the clinical team
- Provide leadership for process improvement related to patient care
- Make and answer patient phone calls pre- and post-treatment/procedure from patients, referring providers, and outside facilities
- Submission Requirements: BILH coversheet required at time of submission
- Additional Information: Interview availability and time off required on all submissions; MUST be separated from BILH for 12 months before returning; Travel, perm, or per diem. No locals (50.5 mi or fewer from the facility)
