Job Summary: Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Asheville, NC
The organization is seeking a Rapid Response Registered Nurse to support a high-acuity cardiovascular pre-operative environment. The role focuses on independent, critical patient care and preparation/transport to the operating room, including advanced clinical procedures and medication administration. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday (MF) from 05:0013:30, 8 shift hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); critical care experience; strong documentation skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity patient area; excellent communication skills with the interdepartmental team; good critical thinking skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Pre-operative experience.
• Responsibilities: Provide rapid response care in a critical pre-operative setting; perform large-bore intravenous (IV) starts; assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement; conduct chin-to-toe hair removal; assist with induction/intubation; support positioning and skin preparation; administer medications; perform skin assessments; transport patients to the operating room.
• Additional Information: On-call coverage requires staying late 12 times per week; floating may be required within scope of practice and experience.
