Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) Nurse Asheville, North Carolina (CVICU/CVRU)
A CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) nurse position is available in a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit. The role supports high-acuity cardiovascular surgical patients and typically follows a staffing ratio that varies by patient acuity. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current license (required to bring on the first day); Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Critical care training; 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification in critical care, cardiac surgery, or recovery room care
• Responsibilities: Provide critical care and recovery support for cardiovascular surgical patients; deliver care aligned with unit guidelines and policies; assist with procedures and interventions supported by the units clinical team
• Clinical Skills / Procedures: Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP); Impella support; hemodynamic monitoring; frequent patient ambulation; chest tube care; pacer wire management; LVAD (left ventricular assist device) care with team support; intubation/extubation
• Floating: Float may be required to all ICUs and stepdown areas, as needed to other units
• Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs; nursing shoes; hair off the shoulder; no fake nails
• Weekend/On-Call: Every other weekend and on-call (if any)
