Description

Job Summary:
A Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) position located in Portland, Oregon. This role involves supporting the sterile processing department within an acute hospital setting, performing sterilization, equipment preparation, and instrumentation management. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The schedule includes a block of nights on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Job Details:

  • Shift Hours: 8 hours per shift
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
  • Required Qualifications: Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM/HSPAS); Oregon license (pending or active); 1 year of relevant experience; familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience; trauma level I experience; community hospital experience; trauma, transplant, or robotics experience; experience with Da Vinci Surgical Systems; preferred trauma level I and trauma level II experience
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be willing to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
    • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day)
    • Vaccinations: COVID-19 vaccine not required, Flu vaccine status unknown
    • Candidates should have their own vehicle for the assignment
    • No call-in policy: candidates should not reach out directly to the facility contacts unless for an approved interview
    • The role requires specific charting experience with Epic and involving sterile processing equipment, biological and chemical indicators, and various surgical systems and instruments
