Description
Job Summary: Operating Room (OR) Director, Patient Care Manhasset, New York. The organization is seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee Operating Room services, supporting high-acuity surgical cases and driving patient-focused nursing practice. This role assumes responsibility for the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, while partnering with senior nursing leadership on strategic program direction. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM (4 10Hr shifts/wk) or 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM (5 8Hr shifts/wk); minimum 38.0 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Masters Degree required (Bachelors or Masters must be in Nursing); current New York State RN license; minimum of 6-8 years of nursing experience; minimum of 3-5 years of operating room experience; minimum of 2-5 years of solid and consistent leadership/management experience
- Preferred Qualifications: OR cardiac surgery and abdominal transplant experience; experience working in a quarternary care facility; CNOR (NE-BC)
- Additional Information: Provides overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; advances nursing mission, vision, and values; partners with senior nursing leadership (including the Chief Nursing Officer) to develop and operationalize the vision and philosophy for nursing practice; serves as a key stakeholder in strategic planning, including service line growth and business development, with a focus on top quartile clinical, fiscal, and patient care outcomes; promotes a healthy work environment that supports engagement, recruitment and retention, team building, and staff competency; fosters integrity, respect, shared decision making, and lifelong learning; supports collaboration with interprofessional colleagues; provides strategic and operational oversight and accountability for nursing practice, patient care delivery, human and fiscal resources, and regulatory compliance; participates with senior nursing leadership in setting strategic direction for key programs
