Description
Job Summary: Registered Nurse (LDRP) Nights Sheboygan, WI
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery (LDRP) unit to provide care for patients in the LDRP setting and to support post-delivery needs for both mother and baby in the same room. The role includes comprehensive labor and delivery nursing responsibilities, including monitoring and assessment, medication administration, and coordination of postpartum care through discharge. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift coverage with 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week. Weekend rotation every 4th week; holiday expectations every other.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) (certification), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (certification), intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring (certification/credential), and completion of unit/role competencies to perform LDRP clinical responsibilities.
- Preferred Qualifications: 2 years LDRP experience. Experience with post-womens surgeries is preferred. Comfortable with all aspects of postpartum care from transition to discharge for both mom and baby.
- Additional Information: Provides nursing care for patients 32 weeks and above, supporting lower-risk cases with common needs including hypertension management, magnesium administration, medication management for substance use, epidurals, elevated BMI, and diabetes care. Performs cervical exams, administers amnio infusions, supports fetal monitoring, manages IV starts and IV management, administers Pitocin as ordered, assists with baby catching/receiving, and supports APGAR assessments. Provides basic breastfeeding education and continues care for mother and baby post-delivery in the same room. Patient assignment includes 1:1 laboring, 1:2 active labor, and 1:3 couplets.
