Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse Phoenix, Arizona

The organization is seeking a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse for the lithotripsy department within the PACU setting in Phoenix, Arizona. This role supports patient recovery following procedures that may involve general anesthesia and moderate sedation. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Four (10) hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, with occasional opportunities to work on Fridays; minimum hours per week: 40.0.
  • Required Qualifications: Current nursing license (license verification required on first day); Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; minimum 2 years of experience in recovery of general anesthesia and moderate sedation; demonstrated ability to maintain sterile field during required procedures and skills (including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes as applicable to the role).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Urology experience.
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include participation in lithotripsy PACU workflow, with expected proficiency in frequent sterile field maintenance and completion of required SIMs Lab training. SIMs Lab includes Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (with exceptions noted for specific unit exceptions), as well as additional educational components such as lifts, restraints, and wound care based on facility equipment and policies. No call and no holidays; weekends are not worked. Floating to the General OR may be required during orientation. Common case types include laser lithotripsy, prostate resection, bladder resection, and endoscopic uro/gyn cases.
  • Submission Requirements: License is required and the organization is willing to wait for licensure clearance where applicable.
