Description
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights (Louisville, Kentucky)
The organization is seeking an ICU RN to provide care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and life-support therapies. Responsibilities include managing complex ICU diagnoses and supporting ventilation, titratable therapies, and specialized equipment-based care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights; shifts run from 06:45 PM07:15 AM and 06:45 AM07:15 PM, with a minimum of 36.0 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Licensure: BLS
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
- Preferred Qualifications:
- ICU experience managing ventilator support and complex critical care patient populations, including post cardiac procedure care, balloon pumps, Swanz monitoring, continuous renal replacement therapy, sepsis, ECMO, pulmonary embolism (PE) care, post thrombectomy care, and non-hemorrhagic post-stroke care
- Additional Information:
- Experience is needed in ventilator care, tracheostomy (trach) care, tube feed management, chest tube care, and the safe handling of titrating intravenous drips
- Experience with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) management is required
- The unit supports ICU staffing with a 24/7 dedicated respiratory therapist and midlevel ICU providers on site
- Floating may be required within scope of practice to other appropriate units, including stepdown, medical-surgical, and telemetry
