Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position in Corpus Christi, Texas, requires candidates to bring their nursing license on the first day. This role involves providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, with an emphasis on post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery, high-acuity conditions, and patients supported by devices such as Impella, Balloon Pump, and ARTIC Sun. The position offers a full-time schedule during daytime hours, with candidates expected to work 12-hour shifts. The organization seeks qualified professionals capable of practicing independently and managing complex clinical situations.
Job Details:
- Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
- Schedule: 7 AM 7 PM, 36 hours per week minimum
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred), RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license, current BLS certification (AHA only), current ACLS certification (AHA only).
- Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; 1 year of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred but will accept new graduates.
- Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete the organizational entry competency validation and a Critical Care Department-specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is also required.
