Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in California. The healthcare organization is seeking qualified OR nurses to provide patient care within the surgical unit of an acute care facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with various surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, urology, general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, and pain management. Candidates are required to bring their California nursing license on the first day of assignment. The position offers mainly 8:30 shift hours, with variable shift times as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Variable shifts, primarily 8:30, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California nursing license (pending licenses accepted), BLS certification, at least 1 year of OR experience, and current certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Epic charting system experience, minimum 1 year OR experience in similar specialties, and references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs) during the last 3 years.
- Additional Information: Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted hospital. Refusal to float may lead to termination of the assignment and forfeiture of guaranteed hours. Must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
- Special Skills & Procedures: Experience with ambulatory OR procedures, including orthopedic surgeries, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, and pain management. Knowledge of general OR practices, infection control, radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures is required.
- Travel Compliance: SSN, DOB, and RTO must be included at the time of submission. Two references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years are required.
- Additional Notes: The candidate must be willing to float within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals. The position involves completion of non-billable modules averaging 16 hours, with over 20 hours requiring project manager approval.
