Job Summary:
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care within a busy and welcoming environment. Candidates are required to bring their licenses on the first day.
Please note: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification. Experience with general Emergency Department skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, peripheral IV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Experience: At least 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Patient Population: Pediatric to Geriatric, with common diagnoses including trauma stabilization, respiratory illnesses, stroke, behavioral health, acute myocardial infarction, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma.
- Patient Ratios: RN: 1:3-4 depending on acuity; CNA will serve as Unit Coordinator and assist RNs, ratios may vary.
- Support Staff: Includes health care technicians, charge nurses, patient safety attendants, pharmacists, social workers, schedulers, radiology technicians, and emergency physicians and advanced practice providers available 24/7.
- Technology and Equipment: EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Alaris intravenous pump, Omnicell medication dispensing system, Phillips monitors, Panda communication system, infant warmer, LUCAS device.
- Floating: Float rotation may be required to facilities within Region 2 including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any Freestanding Emergency Department within Region, and Central Division facilities. Travel time during mid-shift for floating will be paid.
- Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation.
- Additional Notes: Scrub color is Navy Blue. Free parking is provided. The department maintains a welcoming, helpful, and busy culture.
