Description

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nursing position is located in Bangor, Maine. This role requires candidates to bring their license on the first day. The nurse will be responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. The position involves working every other weekend on a rotating schedule, with shifts lasting 12 hours.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Every other weekend rotation (Day shift is Saturday and Sunday, Night shift is Friday and Saturday); shift hours are 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum of 0 years of experience; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and a Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) certification such as the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Experience in neuro and trauma patient care, vents/critical care drips, drains, stroke patients, CT scans, hemodynamic lines, rhythm recognition, measure strips, chest tubes, strong assessment skills, and arterial lines is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: First-time traveler accepted.
  • Additional Information:
    • Hospital orientation followed by a one-day unit orientation
    • Support staff available 24/7 including respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists
    • Use of CERNER Electronic Medical Record system
    • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, stay calm under pressure, and work well in teamwork-oriented, fast-paced environment
    • Scrub color: Any professional color
    • Vaccinations required: COVID-19 and influenza
    • Time-off requests are generally approved except during holidays, which need prior approval from Michelle
