Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to surgical patients within the assigned OR units. This role requires candidates to bring their nursing license on their first day. The position involves providing quality care in a safe, efficient, and respectful manner, aligned with organizational standards and mission. The OR nurse demonstrates clinical competency and professionalism while supporting patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Job Details:

  • Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN license in New Mexico or a compact license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the AHA.
  • Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with a shift time from 06:30 to 15:30, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities: Obtain and document initial patient assessments; develop and modify individualized care plans; communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members; perform point-of-care testing; participate in discharge planning and patient education; delegate and coordinate team activities; promote a positive work environment; participate in staff and student orientation; and support organizational growth through continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Float: Float rotation may be required across different OR locations.
