Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse opportunity is available in a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Oak Lawn, Illinois. The position involves supporting a busy surgical unit that performs adult and pediatric open-heart cases, including TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, and other vascular procedures. This role requires critical care experience and proficiency with EPIC electronic health record systems.

Job Details:

Shift Schedule: Days shift, 10-hour shifts, minimum 40 hours per week, with rotation-based scheduling.
Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification; 3 years of experience in an acute care setting; certification in relevant specialties as appropriate; suitable for a nurse with current licensure to practice in Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system; trauma experience at a Level 1-2 hospital; hybrid patient care experience in adult or pediatric open-heart cases; Siemens equipment experience for Hybrid IR Tech; ARRT certification for support staff.

Additional Notes: Will accept first-time travelers; orientation includes online modules, unit orientation, and Epic system training.
Operational Details: Support on unit by resource nurse, surgeons, educator team; no patient assignment for charge nurse; availability for weekend and evening support; holiday coverage required.
Support and Equipment: EPIC charting, Siemens equipment for hybrid procedures, Pyxis, Alaris; floating not required.
On-Call Requirement: 30-minute response time, with sleeping room provided.
