Description

Job Summary:
The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves providing nursing care, including triage, treatment, and discharge for patients across all age groups in a busy ED setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The position is represented by CNA.

Job Details:

  • Location: San Luis Obispo, California
  • Shift: Nights (1900 0730) with a schedule of either three 12-hour shifts or four 12-hour shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license in California; Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; one year of recent acute care experience; recent EPIC electronic medical record experience; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire
  • Additional Requirements: All required vaccinations to be completed before employment, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons; completion of accurate triage assessments, timely review and completion of patient orders; patient education on medication side effects; recognition and response to cardiac or respiratory distress; competence in routine nursing skills including medication administration, intravenous therapy, care & maintenance of indwelling devices, and use of critical care equipment; accurate documentation; participation in safety and quality checks; coordination during patient admissions from the ED; ability to provide care during Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in acute care setting
