Description

Job Summary:
A Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is sought for a travel assignment in Denver, Colorado. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a 21-bed ICU unit that operates 24/7 with an intensivist present at all times. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position entails working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Details:

  • Location: Denver, Colorado
  • Shift Hours: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid current RN license; minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital ICU experience; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac experience, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience
  • Schedule: Working every third weekend and one major winter holiday; self-scheduling permitted
  • Additional Information: Unit features equipment such as Hospira intravenous pumps, and utilizes the Meditech electronic medical record system. The ICU team maintains a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, with higher acuity patients sometimes managed at a 1:1 ratio. The unit performs procedures like intubation, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, vasopressor IV drip titration, and ventilator management. The hospital is Magnet designated, small, community-oriented with mostly elective patients, and has intensivists available 24/7. Candidate must be team-oriented with a good sense of humor.
