Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Eureka, California. This role involves providing high-quality obstetric and neonatal care within a diverse, high-risk obstetrics setting. The RN will be responsible for managing antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols.

Job Details:

Schedule: Night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, totaling 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN Intermediate certification, BLS (Basic Life Support), at least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, experience with Epic charting system, and relevant clinical skills such as assisting with high-risk deliveries, sterile exams, epidural administration, postpartum hemorrhage management, and neonatal assessments
Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, familiarity with trauma levels I or II, and experience floating within a hospital scope
Float: Float rotation within hospital or affiliated facilities may be required to meet operational needs
Additional Information: Candidates must provide two references covering at least 6 months of recent experience within the past three years prior to start. Candidates are expected to work two out of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. The assignment begins on 08/10/2026 and is based at a facility caring for high-risk obstetrics patients, with a daily census of approximately 15-20 patients.
