Description

Job Summary:
An Operating Room (OR) Nurse is sought for a long-term assignment in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This position involves working in a busy surgical environment with a variety of specialties, including orthopedics, general, ENT, eyes, vascular, and trauma cases. Candidates must be prepared to bring their license on the first day of the assignment. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including day, evening, night, and rotation of call coverage.

Job Details:

  • Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
  • Schedule: 12 hours per shift, three days a week, primarily Monday through Friday, with weekend, holiday, and call rotations as needed. Typical start times include 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, and other varied hours.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Candidates must possess a license, and be willing to wait for approval. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room specialty, previous travel assignments (2-3), and orthopedic experience are required. Experience passing the arms in and out for robotic procedures is mandatory. Candidates must have worked with all relevant specialties, have experience scrubbing as an RN, and familiarity with the EMR system EPIC.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential is also preferred.
  • Experience or Skills: 2-3 years of OR experience; orthopedic experience; passing robotic arms; experience with all surgical specialties; EPIC EMR proficiency.
  • Additional Information: Scrubs are provided; minimal support staff in the unit; assignments are primarily for traveling OR staff. Outpatient surgery float is required.
  • Submission Requirements: Candidates can only be submitted to one position at a time across the entire healthcare network. Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years; prior travelers for 1 year must be gone for 2 years.
  • Background Checks: All background hits must be disclosed at time of submission.
  • Cancellation Policy: The client may cancel up to two shifts per 13-week assignment or one shift for shorter assignments.
