Description
Job Summary:
An RN specializing in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum located in Matthews, North Carolina. This position involves providing comprehensive care to patients within the Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit, supporting postpartum and neonatal care, and collaborating with an established team of healthcare professionals. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Matthews, North Carolina
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; every other weekend rotation; up to 36 hours per week with a schedule cycle every 6 weeks
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), minimum of 2 years of Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum experience, and 2 years of Surgical Technician experience specific to OB.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with all aspects of Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum (LDRP) patient care, circulating cesarean sections, newborn care including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, lactation support, and sterilization techniques.
- Additional Information: Willingness to float within the region and scope of practice, covering multiple facilities including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division. Support staff includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, case managers, OB physicians, pediatricians, and lactation consultants.
- Unit and Equipment: EMR: EPIC, IV pumps: Alaris, Med dispensing: Omnicell, Monitors: Phillips, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, GE Panda Warmer.
- Patient Care: Support diverse patient needs with patient ratios following AWHONN guidelines, handling both postpartum and neonatal patients, and providing lactation and newborn care.
- Support Within Department: Includes CNA support, patient registration, visitor management, unit secretary duties, and case management.
- Orientation: 2 days of department-specific training.
- Scrub Attire: Navy blue scrubs or business casual to/from work; hospital-issued scrubs at work.
- Parking: Free.
- Other Notes: Support for regional floating, holiday work (75%), and up to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays).
